Why Horse Connection Camp Is Different From a Traditional Horse Camp
When most people think of horse camp, they picture children learning to ride. While riding is certainly part of the experience at Horse Connection Camp, it is only one piece of what makes this program special.
Horse Connection Camp, a unique horse camp near Williams Lake, BC, was designed for children who may benefit from a smaller, more supportive environment where horses become partners in learning, confidence building, and personal growth.
Throughout the camp, children spend time grooming, leading, caring for, and riding horses while participating in activities that encourage communication, emotional awareness, problem solving, and teamwork.
Horses are incredibly honest animals. They respond to body language, confidence, patience, and consistency. This creates meaningful opportunities for children to learn about themselves while developing practical horsemanship skills.
Many parents tell us they are looking for activities that help their children build confidence, make connections, and experience success. Horses provide a unique environment where these skills can develop naturally.
Horse Connection Camp may be especially valuable for children who:
Love animals
Benefit from smaller group settings
Need opportunities to build confidence
Enjoy hands-on learning experiences
Are looking for meaningful connections and new friendships
The program draws on principles of Equine Assisted Learning while still providing plenty of horse fun, riding opportunities, games, and ranch activities.
As an EAL Canada Certified Coach and a graduate of the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Science in Movement Science, I am passionate about helping children learn and grow through positive experiences with horses.
We are also experienced in supporting families who may be eligible to access ASD funding for participation in our programs.
